Summer Bucket List
You know when you are in a conversation with someone or out and about and an idea comes up that sounds like the perfect thing to do on a weekend where you don’t have plans – you know, that weekend, like 6 weekends from now? But then, by the time that weekend comes, you forget the great idea you had? Don’t ya just hate that!
That’s why I’m a list girl. I LOVE feeling accomplished and I never want to look back on my life, my year, or even my summer and think: gosh, what did I really do? Or Shoot, we never got around to that! This is where bucket lists keep me honest. I love making lists in general. Grocery lists, weekly meal lists, things to do lists, gift idea lists (you get the idea) but especially bucket lists. These are the most fun lists to create because you are literally planning fun! I love to plan and I love, love, love lists! (And who doesn’t love fun!?)
But, while I Iove making lists, they can easily be tossed aside, thrown in a drawer, and/or just plain forgotten about. So, out of respect for the all-important bucket list, I am instituting a new “thing” effective immediately in our house.
I have not just written out my Summer Bucket List on any ugly ol’ piece of note pad paper. I made it as pretty as my non-artistic self could and framed it with a frame I picked up at Michaels.
Our house isn’t complete yet (so we’re still in the rental) but I assure you friends, I am going to find a place for this little guy as soon as the walls are up! It’s going to hang somewhere obvious and we’re going to look at it every day – as a reminder of all the fun we have to plan! Until then, I’m placing it on the mantel in our rental – because that’s the most obnoxiously obvious place to stick it. It’s the center piece of the room and thus, will be front and center on our minds.
